I'm not U.S-ian, and am still not sure if I would recognize a Taylor Swift song to hear it; I did look her up on YouTube and thought she was pretty talented. Not memorable for me, but talented. Not necessarily music I would listen to. She must have a good marketing machine behind her to spawn such adulation.
I’m my view, I am not sure how strong her marketing “machine” actually is, or needs to be. She is very talented, and has a great stage presence.
Like many bands/singers before her, she seems to be on top of the world, and she’s probably able stay there for some time. From everything everyone says about her, she’s just a good person.
My issue with (not her specifically) famous people making political statements and recommendations is about how much that person is actually aware of.
Many voters in the United States simply vote on most anything a friend, coworker, or family member says.
If you know more Taylor Swift songs than oceans bordering your country, you should not be allowed to vote in America.

Such is the world of Western politics.
I’ve nothing against Taylor Swift.
Ok, fair enough.
